Any time during the musical season is a perfect time to visit Barcelona, however if lovers of classical music really have to choose a date, March is best as it’s when the festivals Barcelona Obertura Spring Festival and Barcelona Obertura Ciutat de Clàssica take place, and the whole city breathes classical music.
Barcelona Obertura Spring Festival, the first festival organized by the three main musical institutions of Barcelona —Liceu Opera Barcelona, Palau de la Música Catalana and L’Auditori Barcelona— features great names on the national and international scene performing outstanding concerts and operas at the three venues during March.
