Classical Music on the Beach

Barcelona is a city open to the sea, to the Mediterranean. Its famous beaches and its classical and lyrical music offerings are two of its greatest attractions. What if we could enjoy both at the same time? Breeze, salt, warmth, and the excitement of the city’s best orchestras and choirs. In this city, everything is possible.

The most refreshing culture

The Gran Teatre del Liceu, the Palau de la Música Catalana, and L’Auditori, under the umbrella of Barcelona Obertura and in collaboration with the Barcelona City Council, are returning with the free concerts of ‘Clàssica a la platja‘ on July 9 and 10 at Platja de Sant Sebastià, expanding their format and featuring internationally renowned names.
The initiative, also supported by the “La Caixa” Foundation, aims to continue bringing symphonic music to all of society and making it accessible to all audiences. And with the desire to bring music closer to vulnerable groups who cannot go to the beach, the Cor Petits and Cor Mitjans of the Orfeó Català will offer two concerts at nursing homes in the neighborhood and the Cor Infantil at the Hospital del Mar in Barcelona, for patients, family members and healthcare personnel.
