Mocco museum, Barcelona’s new museum of contemporary art

The historic Carrer Montcada, in the Born district, is home to the palaces built by the Catalan bourgeoisie in the Middle Ages. Along with several art galleries along beautiful calle Montcada, you will find the famous Picasso Museum, the Ethnological and World Cultures Museum and the brand the Mocco Museum, a private museum that brings together the works of the most representative artists of the moment.

At number 25, Mocco Museum has opened its doors in the space of the Cervelló Palace, a former private residence of the noble Cervelló family. From the Middle Ages to the 20th century, the palace has belonged to aristocrats, merchants and royalty. Respecting the building, the architects Studio Pulsen have recovered the original essence of the palace, adapting it to the needs of the museum, and have created a large modern and contemporary space.

At the Mocco Museum you can enjoy iconic works by internationally renowned and up-and-coming artists such as Andy Warhol, Jean-Michel Basquiat, Banksy, Salvador Dalí, Damien Hirst, Keith Haring, KAWS, Hayden Kays, Yayoi Kusama, David LaChapelle and Takashi Murakami among others, as well as the immersive digital art of teamLab with Les Fantômes and Studio Irma and the space dedicated to the NFT phenomenon.
