The Refugi 307 in Poble-sec is one of the more than one thousand shelters built in Barcelona during the Spanish Civil War. It is a good example of the passive defense measures carried out by the city during this period. It consists of 200 meters of tunnels with a height of 2.10 meters and a width ranging between 1.5 and 2 meters. It has three access entrances and was excavated thanks to the efforts of many local residents who were involved in its construction.
Designed to protect the population from aerial attacks, the Refugi 307 has been restored and opened to the public to show the cruelty of war and its consequences. During the guided tours on March 21 at 6:00 p.m. and 7:30 p.m., the guitarist Sara Congost will take part in the visit, performing pieces by Catalan composers.
