The Barcelona Music Museum displays a collection of nearly two hundred instruments, each bearing the hallmark of the people who made them and used them to make music. The museum takes us on an itinerary through the different worlds of music —history and cultures — both through the musical instruments themselves and listening to music in the display rooms.
The visit to the museum begins with the principal elements of music, such as melody, rhythm and tone. It continues with the audio-visual presentations, traveling from the Middle Ages to the twentieth century with stopovers at two special stages, the Catalan composers’ room and the guitar collection before ending in the interactive room.
