Barcelona is a city with a great culinary tradition, boasting extraordinary first-class gastronomy. The Catalan capital continues to be at the forefront of the international gastronomic vanguard, demonstrated by its 31 Michelin Star restaurants. In fact, the 2024 edition of the Michelin Guide for Spain, Portugal and Andorra, saw Barcelona winning two new Michelin Stars. These have gone to the restaurants Quirat, by Víctor Torres and Suto, by Yoshikazu Suto. Great news for a city that is the birthplace of some of the most prestigious chefs in the world such as Ferran Adrià, Carme Ruscalleda or the Roca Brothers.
If you want to pay tribute to yourself and enjoy a unique experience at a gastronomic destination par excellence, take note of our recommendations.

Cocina Hermanos Torres (3 stars)
The Torres brothers are well known in Spain for their television program and, of course, for their great talent in the kitchen. They like to say theirs is “A kitchen of values and flavors”, as they prepare family recipes with seasonal and garden products, using contemporary techniques. After their first project “Dos cielos”, this new restaurant, just open for almost 4 years, is located in a renovated tire workshop in the Les Corts neighborhood of Barcelona. Its open kitchen invites diners to feel complicit in its creations, creating a unique and unforgettable atmosphere. This extraordinary space also has a wine cellar and an aperitif or cocktail area, its own pastry shop, a private room, a training room, an R&D room, and a bar.

ABaC (3 stars)
ABaC is the restaurant belonging to media chef Jordi Cruz, the youngest Spanish chef to receive a Michelin star. Located in the hotel of the same name it boasts three Michelin stars. His cuisine is sophisticated, original, and surprising. At ABaC – nominated for Best Restaurant in Catalonia 2011 by the Catalan Academy of Gastronomy – there is a unique tasting menu of fourteen dishes and four desserts, changing seasonally. Among its delicacies worth highlighting “La Caja China” – grilled eel fried bread, fresh wasabi, and smoked eel “all i oli” -, sun-dried hanging tomato with herb bread and Parmesan textures served with a liquid tomato salad or the red mullet with a texture of roasted and pickled beets, furikake and dairy touch with tarragon and citrus.

Disfrutar (3 stars)
Among the different projects three former chefs from elBulli – Oriol Castro, Eduard Xatruch and Mateu Casañas – decided to carry out, Disfrutar, which has three Michelin stars and in 2023 was named the second best restaurant in the world by “ The World’s 50 Best Restaurants”. Its name is quite a declaration of intent, with which the heirs of the Bullinian spirit seek to persuade us to let ourselves go and enjoy each and every one of its delicacies, through its cuisine full of emotions and creativity. Among its most popular creations are its macaroni made with gelatin and mixed with truffle foam or its whiskey cake. Unmissable

Cinc Sentits (2 stars)
Founded by Jordi Artal, this restaurant with an evocative name has already won two Michelin stars. Despite the fact that Artal came from a world totally unrelated to gastronomy- he worked in marketing at a technology company in Silicon Valley-he decided to dedicate himself to his great passion together with his sister Amèlia Artal. Together they opened their own restaurant in Barcelona, offering faithful diners Catalan cuisine, but with a contemporary air, always made with the best local ingredients. A captivating experience

Alkimia (1 star)
This project is led by Jordi Vilà, who has created a kitchen specialized in the reinterpretation of the main dishes that form part of Catalonia’s culinary identity. A proposal in which excellent quality and mainly local products are at the center – they maintain a close relationship, formed over many years with their trusted producers – combining tradition and creativity. From his menu, we highlight the squid stuffed with zucchini or the combination of veal ravioli and grilled oyster. In the same space, they have the Alkostat Room. A different restaurant, where the chef together with his team presents a fresh and rigorously prepared menu of dishes, dishes and tapas, designed for sharing among bon vivants.

Chef Albert Raurich together with head waiter and expert sommelier Tamae Imachi are the founders of this restaurant located in the heart of the El Raval neighborhood and next to the Casa Camper hotel. After being closed for a while, they have returned with their exquisite and creative proposal based on cuisine from the Far East, mainly Japan, China and Southeast Asia, fused with Mediterranean touches. The restaurant’s 3 spaces: a Japanese-style bar for 20 diners, a private dining room for 8-10 people, and the Sakebar, specializing in sake with more than 40 menu items. A one-of-a-kind restaurant.

Enigma (1 star)
After reopening, Enigma has returned with a menu inspired by seasonal products, where Albert Adrià’s more than 35 years of experience merges tradition and innovation. The result is a menu that is seasonal, changing, surprising and exquisite, all housed in an impressive and versatile space designed by the architecture studio RCR Arquitectes – Pritzker Prize 2017 -. As in his previous projects, Albert Adrià perfectly blends gastronomy and fun, but without fanfare. We assure you that here, above all else you will eat incredibly well. A sublime experience.

Koy Shunka (1 star)
This is the proposal of the chef Hideki Matsuhisa and Xu Zhangchao, who have opted to combine Japanese techniques with Mediterranean products. Here respect for the primary ingredients prepared with meticulous care is their mantra for each and every product. Considered by many to be one of the best Japanese restaurants in Europe. The culinary combinations are such that we enjoy a sensory journey with each bite of its tasting menu. Eel from the Ebro Delta or the “Mediterranean” tuna, among many others, stands out. Their sushi is one of the best we’ve ever had.
