Franz Schubert: Die schöne Müllerin (The fair miller-maid)

Leading tenor Christoph Prégardien stars in one of the most eagerly awaited performances of the season, a must for lied fans. Impeccable vocal technique, intelligent musicality and an ability to reach the audience’s chorus are some of the reasons why Prégardien has become one of the most important tenors in the world, venerated especially in the lied genre.

An opportunity to enjoy La bella molinera (Die schöne Müllerin), the last stage of Franz Schubert’s song cycle. Illusion, joy, hope, envy, sadness, rage, despair and resignation with poems by Wilhelm Müller. Schubert takes us on a journey through the different states of mind that arise in the face of this unrequited love, using nature as a mirror and amplifier of human emotions.

Pregárdien teams up with Roger Vignoles, one of the most sought-after pianists to accompany voices, in an evening as part of the Schubertíada Barcelona festival.
