The conductor Elena Schwarz, regularly invited to lead major orchestras such as the BBC Philharmonic or the WDR Symphony, will perform with the Barcelona Symphony Orchestra the Ein Heldenleben (A Hero’s Life), one of Richard Strauss’s most celebrated symphonic poems. The piece uses a large orchestra with some solo violin sections to depict stages in the life of the protagonist.
Julia Hagen will star in Tchaikovsky’s Variations on a Rococo Theme, a symphonic piece for cello with technical challenges that the virtuoso Salzburg cellist will take on.
